The brief

Blackford curates a catalogue of AI clinical applications for medical imaging. Their existing database held everything but the navigation friction made it hard to surface the right tool in a sales conversation, especially with non-specialist external partners.

What we did

Blackford Analysis curates a catalogue of AI clinical applications for medical imaging. The catalogue itself was not the problem. The problem was navigating it during a sales conversation. With dozens of applications, each with its own clinical use, regulatory governance, and integration profile, Blackford's specialists were spending too long on questions that good navigation should have answered for them. External partners were stuck waiting on those specialists to find what they needed.

We built the Navigator Tool, a focused product that turns the sprawling catalogue into a sales asset that works without specialist help. The build covered:

  • Dynamic filtering across clinical use, governance status, and integration profile
  • A presentation layer that puts each application in context without oversimplifying it
  • An external-partner mode so the Navigator could be safely opened up beyond Blackford's internal sales team
  • Integration with Blackford's existing data sources, keeping the catalogue as the source of truth

How we approached it

The work started with a discovery phase that mapped how sales conversations actually unfolded. From there, agile sprints turned the discovery into product. Blackford's clinical team shaped the language while our design team worked to make dense regulatory information navigable for non-specialists without losing accuracy. The iterative shape of the engagement let scope expand sensibly as new partner needs surfaced.

Transforming the experience

The Navigator Tool changed who could move a conversation forward. Internal sales teams found applications faster and pulled up relevant governance information without paging a clinical lead. External partners got direct access to a clear, well-organised view of the catalogue, removing the bottleneck that had sat between them and the right product. For Blackford, the platform brought a previously fragmented data picture into one product and gave its commercial team a tool that scales with the catalogue.
